Proud to be working in partnership with the NHS
St Hugh’s is proud to have developed a long-standing NHS partnership throughout the Covid pandemic to help treat long-waiting surgical patients and support the national Elective Recovery Plan. Our specialist areas of support include orthopaedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, gynaecology, and diagnostics.
We are currently working with three NHS hospital trusts in the region – Northern Lincolnshire and Goole (NLAG), Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. Each are transferring long-waiting patients to St Hugh’s. The strength of our long-standing NHS relationships allowed such transfers to be mobilised quickly, with measures taken to provide a Covid-secure environment for all patients.
We have demonstrated some excellent examples of partnership working, with equipment from United Lincolnshire used within St Hugh’s to treat long-waiting patients originating from within Grimsby’s Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital. As a result, these patients were seen and treated for their urgent conditions without any further delay.
This is just one way of how us working together helps you!
In the 12 months from June 2020, we have delivered more than 13,000 NHS procedures, including more than 8,000 outpatient appointments and 3,000 diagnostics tests, free at the point of delivery – playing a key role in ensuring the NHS did not become a “Covid-only service”. This is in addition to the care delivered to large numbers of our privately funded patients.
