Great Grimsby 10k & Fun Run

St Hugh’s Hospital supports Tape2Tape Events in facilitating the regions premier mass participation running event the Great Grimsby 10k & Fun Run. In only its second year the event had over three thousand entries and this is projected to double again in 2018 when St Hugh’s are looking to continue their support once again.

The GtG10k event had 50% of entrants from the North East Lincs area & a large percentage of first time 10k runners. This makes it an ideal event for us to support in our health promotion drive in the community.

St Hugh’s staff were encouraged to get active and take part in the event with free places made available to them as part of our staff health promotion strategy.

We also ran a social media competition for x2 first time 10k runners to win a package of a free entry, a consultation with our nutritionist who also supplied a “couch to 10k” training programme. We also gave a £100 voucher for new trainers from a local running shop c/w gate analysis on completion of run.
