Meet our new cosmetics team
We’re pleased to report that we have welcomed two new members to our cosmetics department this month: Mr Paolo Matteucci and Mr Ash Kotwol have joined the team as our two new consultants.
Appointing two new consultants has strengthened our team; we now have a total of four consultants and one Cosmetic Sister all contributing to our consultant-led cosmetic department which is dedicated to ensuring our patients feel safe, comfortable and satisfied before, during and after any procedure.
Mr Matteucci has trained extensively in general plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery in units across London and Yorkshire and has also completed a prestigious Interface Specialty Fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology.
In addition, Mr Matteucci is on the Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery, is a full member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons and has had his work on specialist subjects published in numerous plastic surgery journals.
Within the cosmetics department, Mr Matteucci will be providing a full range of plastic surgery which includes the treatment of skin lesions and skin cancer through to major reconstructive procedures. He’ll also be providing a full range of cosmetic surgery including non-surgical facial rejuvenation, surgical facial rejuvenation, rhinoplasty, cosmetic breast surgery, body contouring and liposuction.
In line with our ethos and as a member of our team, he appreciates the enormous positive impact that well performed and appropriate cosmetic surgery can have on a patient’s self-esteem and quality of life. Mr Matteucci understands the importance of balance and harmony in cosmetic surgery and takes care to tailor each patient’s treatment to the individual to achieve optimal results.
Mr Kotwol has also joined our clinic to provide a wide range of surgical procedures including the removal of lumps and bumps, mole removal, abdominoplasty, facelifts, breast augmentation, reduction, lift or reconstruction following cancer surgery.
After completing a postgraduate degree in general surgery and higher plastic surgical training, Mr Kotwol went on to complete fellowships in reconstructive breast surgery at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford and microvascular surgery at Leeds Teaching Hospital.
Among his many accolades, he is a Council Member of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, the Regional Speciality Advisor for plastic and reconstructive surgery for the Royal College of Surgeons and the Governance Lead for the Hull and East Yorkshire NHS Trust Major Trauma Centre.
Our newest team members join our highly experienced cosmetic consultants Mr Alastair Platt and Mr Muhammad Riaz, and our Cosmetics Sister Sarah Grantham.
Mr Platt completed his training at Cambridge University and Oxford University and now offers cosmetic surgery for individuals who feel the need to revise or change their features which may otherwise be considered as outside the broad range of ‘normal’.
Mr Riaz has worked as a consultant in plastic and reconstructive surgery since 2001, having undertaken specialist plastic surgery training in the UK, Ireland and America.
Mr Platt and Mr Riaz are both Fellows of the Royal College of Surgeons and members of the British Association of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH).
Sarah Grantham has worked at St Hugh’s Hospital since 2017 and brings over 20 years’ worth of knowledge and expertise to assist in the organisation, logistics and care of all patients who choose to have a cosmetic procedure with us.
As a department we believe that excellent results can only be achieved by having a thorough understanding of the concerns and aspirations of each patient and we will provide patients with an honest appraisal of their suitability for procedures.
Our consultants always explain the procedures carefully and in detail to ensure patients have a comprehensive understanding of the potential benefits and risks of their treatment, enabling us to provide a bespoke package of care.
