St Hugh’s Hospital rated Good by the Care Quality Commission
St Hugh’s Hospital has been rated Good overall following its latest inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), recognising the significant progress made across the hospital and the high standard of care provided to patients.
Inspectors rated the hospital Good across all five key areas of the CQC’s assessment framework: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.
The result marks and important improvement since the previous inspection and reflects the commitment of staff across the hospital to strengthening quality governance and patient experience.
The inspection highlighted improvements in leadership and governance, with the Well-led domain improving to Good, demonstrating stronger oversight of risk, safety and performance across the organisation.
Inspectors found a positive learning culture where staff share information, raise concerns and learn from safety events. The report also recognised improvements in mandatory training compliance, clinical audit programmes and governance processes.
Patients who spoke with inspectors shared positive feedback about their care, describing staff as kind, warm and professional, and saying they felt listened to and involved in decisions about their treatment.
St Hugh’s Hospital provides surgery, outpatient services and diagnostic imaging for private paying and NHS patients across North East Lincolnshire and the surrounding areas.
