Triobike: Can you become a pilot?
Could you lend a hand to older people… and get that feel-good buzz?
We’re on the look-out for volunteers to become ‘pilots’ for the St Hugh’s Hospital triobike, which helps older people out in the fresh air and reconnecting with their community.
We invested in the bike some time ago and teamed up with Friendship At Home to offer the rides out. Now, post Covid-19 restrictions, we’re back in the saddle for 2021 – and we’re looking for people to help.
Pilot Gary Allington, the hospital’s Health Promotion Officer, said: “The bike is battery-assisted and very easy to operate, and full training and support will be given to those who sign up.
