Volunteers wanted for fun run

Are you community minded? Do you like getting involved in local events? Then Tape2Tape, the organiser of the St Hugh’s Hospital Cleethorpes Family Fun Run, wants you!

The award-winning Tape2Tape was set up by Neil and Nicola Pattison in 2011, organising races from runners’ perspectives, and we have been proud supporters of them since the very beginning.

Hot on the heels of our fun run as part of the Orsted Great Grimsby 10k in June, put Sunday, September 18 in your diary for a run, walk, stroll – or however you want to take part – along the scenic Cleethorpes seafront.

As reported, the first 200 people to sign up get free entry, with those after that paying a reduced fee of just £2.50, to raise money for the RNLI. The seafaring charity has looked after the safety of people using and visiting Cleethorpes for years, and work is currently ongoing to build a new lifeboat station there.

The fun run forms part of the ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon and 5k, taking place over a shorter one-mile route along the wheelchair and pram-friendly Cleethorpes Coastal Footpath. Expect stunning scenery, famous landmarks, and a fitting finish line under the arch on the promenade with a medal as a prize.

Tape2Tape is always on the look-out for volunteers to get involved in these events to make sure they run smoothly.

Neil and Nicola said: “Our races would not be possible without the help of many big-hearted volunteers giving up their time to help. We have many different community groups and charities join us at our events. We also work with local students who gain valuable experience to endorse their CVs with.

The St Hugh’s Hospital Cleethorpes Family Fun Run starts at 10am on King’s Road, Cleethorpes, a five-minute walk from the nearby leisure centre.
