Marking World Hand Hygiene Day

The message “hands, face, space” is part of our daily life as we fight Covid-19, but hand hygiene always has – and always will be – of vital importance here at St Hugh’s.

Every May, the World Health Organisation (WHO) celebrates World Hand Hygiene Day to maintain global promotion, visibility and sustainability of hand hygiene in health care. The day also brings people together in support of hand hygiene improvement around the world.

This year WHO called on healthcare workers and facilities to achieve effective hand hygiene action at the point of care – in other words, the place where the patient, the healthcare worker, and the care or treatment comes together.

The team at St Hugh’s Hospital had a great time celebrating!
