Laura is an experienced Lead Nurse specialising in Urogynaecology Services, providing expert and compassionate care for women across the Hull area and within St Hugh’s Hospital (Grimsby). Laura runs her own specialist women’s health clinics within the Women’s and Children’s Department at Hull and provides private care through St Hugh’s Hospital, supporting women with a wide range of pelvic health and continence concerns.
Her specialist role involves the assessment, diagnosis, and management of conditions including urinary incontinence, vaginal prolapse, perineal trauma post-pregnancy, pelvic floor dysfunction, and bladder or bowel disorders. She is skilled in vaginal assessments, pelvic floor evaluation, and the delivery of conservative management plans to help women regain comfort, confidence, and quality of life.
As the Lead Nurse for the nurse-led pessary clinics, she oversees the safe and effective management of pessary care, providing training and competency assessments for new staff and sharing best practices across the team. She is also trained and certified in urodynamic assessment, enabling her to conduct and interpret bladder function tests for the diagnosis of bladder outflow dysfunction, stress incontinence, and overactive bladder.
Her wider clinical expertise includes Urology and Gynaecology for both men and women, covering areas such as catheter care, intermittent catheterisation, wound care, post-operative reviews, and conservative bladder management. She takes pride in providing a personalised and professional service, ensuring every patient receives the highest standard of care in a supportive and respectful environment.
Alongside her clinical responsibilities, she works within a multidisciplinary team (MDT), contributes to research and service development in Urogynaecology, and supports junior staff through training and mentorship. She is committed to continuous professional development, ensuring that the care she delivers remains evidence-based, safe, and patient-centred.
