Mr Tilston has been a Consultant General and Upper Gastrointestinal surgeon at St Hughs Hospital and Diana Princess of Wales Hospital for almost 25 years, practising mostly in the field of laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for Gallstones, antireflux surgery and complex hiatal surgery such as revision fundoplication and Surgery for oesophageal problems, such as achalasia. He is also very experienced in the field of abdomenal and inguinal hernia repair, and undertakes a large number of therapeutic and diagnostic endoscopies. He has a special interest in Barretts oesophagus, a precancerous condition of the oesophagus and provides a regional specialist ablation service for this.
