Thank you!

Thanks to all of you who pulled on your trainers and took part in the St Hugh’s Hospital Cleethorpes Family Fun Run, part of the ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon and 5K, £1000 has so far been raised for the RNLI, the races’ benefitting charity.

The sponsorship money from runners taking part in last month’s huge event and cash donated by the organising body, Tape2Tape, has totted up to £1000 – with more expected to come as participants set about collecting pledges.

As reported, hmtsthughs.org/a-mile-of-smiles families from around the region took part in our one-mile fun run along the Cleethorpes Coastal Footpath – a shorter route for people of all ages and abilities to participate in, as part of the larger event for more serious runners.

Neil and Nicola Pattison, from Tape2Tape, are delighted at the amount, and have already announced the date of 2023’s event as Sunday, September 17.

A new lifeboat station is currently being built in Cleethorpes for our local RNLI crew to ensure the charity can continue to operate along our coastline safely and effectively for many more years to come.

Gary Allington, facilities manager and community officer at St Hugh’s Hospital, said: “Wow, what a result – £1000 and counting. It’s a great figure for a very worthy cause. Thank you to everyone who took part.”
