I only plan to do clinic and upper endoscopy at St Hughs for the foreseeable future. I have now been a consultant general surgeon with a specialist interest in Upper Gastrointestinal surgery for 7 years. Throughout this time I have performed clinics, theatres, and endoscopy for a wide range of general surgery conditions. I have participated in the on call for General Surgery . I have been a clinical supervisor throughout this period. For the first 4 years of my consultant post I performed oesophagogastric cancer resections as part of an in reach service. This has now become a fully centralised service and although I no longer operate on these cases I am still a core member of the regional MDT. I have significant experience of laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery and perform these locally. I am fully competent in upper Gastrointestinal endoscopy, including therapeutic techniques. During my time in Sheffield and Bradford I have been involved in bariatric surgery and have performed gastric bypasses with minimal supervision, however this is not a service we can provide in our trust at present. I am an endoscopy trainer and regularly am a faculty member on the JAG upper Gastrointestinal endoscopy course at the EYSE.
