Patient testimonials:

Having suffered with what I believed to be recurring infections following hospitalisation for sepsis, I sought private medical support through the Spire Elland and was referred to Mr CH Gan with suspected endometriosis; a condition I knew very little about and showed no classic symptoms for.  From the very first consultation, I was made to feel at ease and the initial diagnostic surgery was booked within a few weeks. This confirmed that, not only was my case one of the most severe, it could have a significant impact on my future health. It was recommended that I had both surgery and extensive laser treatment. To be told that this could all be completed through a key hole procedure was quite amazing considering the extent of the surgery I needed.

Throughout the whole process for initial surgery to major surgery, Mr Gan discussed all the options to both reassure me and support me for the best health outcome. This did involve some very difficult decisions but I was considerately listened to and my worries were alleviated by clear diagnostic images and very clear explanation. Even to the point of the morning of the surgery, Mr Gan came to see me to ensure I was confident and happy. After over six hours of surgery, the journey didn’t just end and the after care I received was second to none. Six monthly follow ups and checks for the next two years to ensure there was no recurrence finally led to being discharged. Each appointment made me feel like I was being given the time to discuss concerns, with further treatments managed effectively and efficiently.

I cannot thank Mr Gan and his team enough for the highest level of care they afforded me at a very difficult and worrying time. The use of advanced and expert keyhole surgery reduced many of the future complications and got me back to living a normal life much sooner than more traditional methods would.

Kirsty Allen.

I just wanted to write to you to express my sincere thanks and gratitude for the wonderful care I received during my recent stay as an inpatient.

During such a worrying and stressful time it was reassuring to have you next to me with  your calm advice and explanation. I trusted your management plan and felt confident to be in your in your safe hands.

I was very aware you were contacted outside of your working hours and consulted with the team from home regarding my treatment.  This shows how dedicated to your patients you truly are. You went above and beyond your duties for me and I am extremely grateful and blown away by this. You stayed with me in the theatre waiting area as I waited nervously to be taken in for anaesthetic.  Your presence was very reassuring to me and  you tried your best to keep me occupied and focused as I am sure you could see how anxious I felt. Thank you for this you really did help to calm my nerves.

I am truly humbled by the amazing five star treatments I received from you and your team. I am truly grateful for the fact that you also came in on your day off to operate, which to me was mind blowing, you went way above and beyond the call of duty for me and I wanted to write to you to show how much I  appreciated it.

I felt safe and importantly very well cared for because of you and your team. The standard of care I received and the communication and teamwork between you all was simply amazing. I will never forget what you have done for me. I would just like to say a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart, you really are amazing.

Amy Tuplin.
